Havanese
Havanese, are cheerful little dogs with a spring in their step and a gleam in their big, brown eyes. These lively and sociable companions are becoming especially popular.
Distinctive features of the Havanese include a curled-over tail and a gorgeous silky coat, which comes in a variety of colors. Some owners let their dogs hair grow out, others like to cord the coat and still others prefer to clip it short to reduce grooming. Happily, Havanese are just as cute no matter what hairdo you give them.
Havanese are small but sturdy dogs. Their average height is 8-12 inches to the shoulders and they weigh between 7-14 pounds. Their average life expectancy is between 14=16 years.
Their adaptable nature and social skills make Havanese an ideal city dog, yet they are content to be anywhere that they can command the attention of admirers young and old alike.
Havanese are very smart and trainable extroverts. They have the comic instincts of a clown and are naturals trick dogs.
Havanese are also excellent watchdogs and they let you know when someone arrives, but they normally keep barking to a minimum.
