ADOPTION INFORMATION

   &

  HEALTH GUARANTEE

All of our puppies are raised in a loving environment with lots of cuddles and attention. Beginning at just a few days old, we do Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) with each puppy. We also incorporate portions of Puppy Culture protocols in their daily lives. In addition, the puppies are socialized, handled and played with multiple times each day by us and our children. These programs give the puppies many health and wellness advantages over pups that haven't received this training.

Each puppy comes with AKC registraion papers, vet exam, age-appropriate vaccines, dewormed at 2, 4, 6, 8 weeks, a small bag of food and their own toy.

Litter pick and puppy choice will be determined in order that deposits are received and with regards to gender preference. We will post photos each week, and occasionally videos, about the puppies on our Facebook page. During the 4th week puppy picks will be made. We will begin to go down the line beginning with the first deposit placed, then second and so on. Once it's your turn, you will have 24 hours to determine your pick. If you want to wait to choose your puppy, I will have to continue down the list. Then you will have the choice of whatever puppies are still available.

Breeder reserves the right to first pick.

Puppies will be available to go to their new homes sometime during their 8th-9th week. Normally we plan a day during that weekend when we meet and puppies are picked up. If you can not meet during that time, prior arrangements need to be made to get your fur baby.

If your puppy remains in our care past the scheduled pick up weekend, there will be an additional kennel and care fee charged. The first few months are so important for bonding and we don't want you to miss that precious time.

Once You Know You Are Ready to adopt one of our sweet puppies, the process is fairly easy.
*Please read through our entire adoption policies section that way you know what to expect.*

1) Fill out the Contact Submission to let us know you're interested. Remember to include if you would like a Male or Female. Or if you don't have a preference and would be open to either gender, please write EITHER for your choice in the message section.

2) Then we will send you our Potential Puppy Parent Form for you to fill out. It's short but important. Simply complete the form, send it back and we will review it promptly.

3) Next we'll send you our PayPal link so you can place your $400 deposit. This holds your place in line for a puppy. The deposit is non-refundable once made. 🐶 🐶  HEALTH GUARANTEE  🐶 🐶
Each puppy from Ozark Mountain Dogs comes with a Health Guarantee until the age of 12 months old which is their 1 year birthday. Our puppies come from excellent lines with strong longevity but this policy is in place in the unlikely event such an issue would arise. Before going to their new homes, each puppy receives a thorough nose to tail full veterinary exam. It is our desire to have quality healthy pups.
If your puppy is diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian with a life-threatening genetic or hereditary disease during this time frame, let us know. We will need copies of all veterinary paperwork sent to us regarding the condition and stating the diagnosis. Once we receive the medical claim, it will be reviewed by our veterinary team. If it's confirmed the claim meets the health guarantee requirements, a replacement puppy of the same gender will be provided as soon as one is available. No money will be refunded. The health guarantee does not cover issues such as accidents, injuries, parasites, hernias, ingestion of foreign substances, illnesses, Etc. All Veterinary costs associated with the care of the puppy is the responsibility of the puppy buyer once the puppy leaves Ozark Mountain Dog premises.

It is essential that you establish quality care for life for your new puppy. This begins when the puppy is born but continues after adoption. Therefore it is required for your new puppy to be examined by a licensed veterinary within 5 days pick up or health guarantee is void. We love our puppies and desire each of them them to get the best start in life. As an extra help in caring for your puppy, we recommend getting health insurance for your puppy. There are some very good companies and they help take the bite out of vet visits.
For the dog's health and safety, if you're purchasing a puppy with Limited Registration, the puppy will need to be spayed or neutered. For Bernese females this is required by 12 months of age. For Bernese males the requirement is 18 months of age. For Havanese females and males, both are recommended at 6 months of age.
If at any time you can no longer care for your puppy and need to rehome it, you can contact us and we will take the dog back. The dog will need to be returned and we will find a loving replacement home. No money will exchange hands for the return. It is our desire to keep our dogs out of shelters and as breeders we have connections to caring pet homes. We love our puppies and want the very best for each one of them.

The way our waiting list works:

If you have looked over our site and you're pretty sure you would like to adopt a puppy from us, join the waiting list. You can hold your spot in line without the larger commitment of a deposit.

This works out well if we already have a number of families committed by deposit and you're not sure the gender you want will be available. It also works if a litter is not currently available but will be in the near future.

It is important to note puppies go to families that have placed a deposit first,  then to people on the waiting list and lastly to the general public.

If you'd like to be placed on the waiting list please go to the Contact Us section  on our web page and send us a message. We look forward to hearing from you.
